Y3OB/RH have been very creative this week.
Year 3 OBRH have been very busy this week creating all sorts of models and structures in class. We have had fun making dams from Lego and wooden blocks linked to our Splish, Splash, Splosh topic. We have also made boats from recyclable materials which have been fantastic. Finally, we have worked together as a class to create a giant owl from cardboard and other recyclable materials for the Ballymoney Show. Make sure you pay him a visit at the show this weekend!
Eco Week in Year 3
Year 3 enjoyed taking part in outdoor learning and Eco activities this week.
P3 OB/RH Hold Interviews To Be Pirates
In Year 3 OB/RH we held interviews to apply for a job as a pirate. We thought about what skills and talents we had that would make us the best candidate for the role. Some of us had certificates for swimming, so we wouldn't be bothered if we had to walk the plank or dive into the water to chase a shark. Others had experience on the rugby field or football pitch, so were experts at running, tackling and kicking... all very handy transferable skills in the pirate world. We thought about how we could sound persuasive and convincing in our letters. Everyone produced wonderful writing outcomes and it will be a very tough decision for Captain Rotten Teeth to know who he should hire!
Year 3 School Trip to Portrush
On Monday Year 3 and S&L Class travelled to Portrush for a fun day at Wacky Workshop followed by a delicious lunch at the Ramore in Portrush. We are so proud of all our pupils who enjoyed their day and were fantastic representatives of our school on their day out.
KS1 Assembly: class 3OB/ 3RH: Monthly Value:” Achievement .”
The KS1 Assembly today, Wednesday 19th June, was led by Mrs Browne's class 3OB/ 3RH. This was a terrific assembly, focusing on our school, monthly value of " Achievement."
Congratulations to all the boys and girls in 3OB/ 3RH, for the brilliant assembly, which focused on drama, role- play, action songs and prayers, all related to the School June Monthly Value of "Achievement."
Thank you to Mrs Browne, and to all the boys and girls in class 3OB/ 3RH, for such wonderful singing with actions and drama this afternoon in our KS1 Assembly.👏😊.

🏅 Year 3 Sports Day 🏅
Year 3 Sports Day took place on Wednesday 5th June.
Well done to our boys and girls who participated in a number of track events on the day and enjoyed a treat of ice cream in the afternoon.🍦
Year 3 Bring Characters to Life
Year 3 worked together in literacy today. We read the story 'The Pirates Next Door'. We looked at the character of Jim Lad from the book and talked about what sort of character he was. Then, we worked together to draw our version of Jim Lad. Using the iPads we took a picture of our drawing and used a clever little App called ChatterPix to bring our drawing to life. We even recorded our voices saying something Jim Lad might say and the app used it to make Jim Lad 'talk'! So clever!
