Year 4 took a trip to the outdoor classroom this week, completing a survey of the house types in the area and streets surrounding our school.
Building on prior learning of frequency tables and tally charts, pupils were able to record the type of each house passed and then use this information to create both hand drawn graphs and charts using software packages.

The boys and girls in Mrs Murphy's class really enjoyed learning at first hand today about the local homes on our school doorstep.
Many thanks to all Year 4 boys and girls in Mrs Murphy's, Mrs McNaughton's and Mrs Mack's Yr 4 classes, and to all the staff and classroom assistants in Yr 4 for such a great morning, outdoors.

Today Year 4 took a walk down to John Street Spar and visited their special Santa Royal Mail Post Box.

Our pupils practised their knowledge of the Green Cross Code and recalled Road Safety tips from their lessons this week.

Thank you so much to our incredible staff and pupils who braved the weather today to complete this special trip. Our pupils were a super example to their school and we hope that they receive some replies in the coming weeks.

Year 4 note

This week is extremely busy in Year four. We have been auditioning for parts, dancing and singing solos in our Christmas Show. We have been writing letters to Santa, which we hope to post tomorrow (weather permitting).

Just a little reminder to those parents who need to send in their stamp for the Santa letter, that tomorrow is posting day.
Also attached is the letter from Mrs Robinson with details of Ditch the dark day on Friday.
Pupils should come to school in their uniform, with some carefully chosen items to highlight Road Safety - see the example images on the bottom of the letter.

Many thanks,

Mrs McNaughton
