Year four have started their new topic 'It's a Bug's Life'. During our Activity Based Learning, both indoor and outdoors, we have been collecting natural materials to create artwork inspired by the little creatures in our school habitat. Pupils even found some extra special visitors to check-in to their hotels and enjoy the space they designed.

Our first few days back following the Easter holidays were very exciting. We had a special delivery on Tuesday marked 'open urgently!'. Each pupil selected a caterpillar from the delivery and produced a mini habitat with a partner to home their exciting minibeast. This marks the beginning of our new topic - 'It's a bug's life!'

On Wednesday and Friday, Year 4NM completed their Games PE lessons with a focus on creating successful passes and team work. They learnt about the types of games which allow movement while carrying a ball / object and those which have rules where you must stop and pass before moving on. This helped prepare them for their final game - shoot for hoops. Teams of pupils had to toss a beanbag along a line, without creating a foul and shoot as many beanbags into the nets or hoop as possible within a short time frame. This was one we will definitely play again!

On Friday morning, Year 4NM held a fun Circle Time session all about sharing Positivity and happiness.
They started by opening the circle time a follow me activity, with pupils passing smiles and fun actions around the circle and trying to spot who was leading the choices. In the round, each pupil had a chance to speak about the things that make them feel happy and times that they remember feeling excited.
We finished this off with a celebration game called 1, 2, 3 clap, where pupils moved all around the hall, enjoying the freedom to move as they liked while listening for instructions in the form of a number of claps. Great listening everyone!
