Ballymoney Model Integrated Primary School

7RR led a whole assembly on Wednesday afternoon about TEAMWORK. They explained the importance of teamwork and even invited some pupils and staff to complete some tasks to demonstrate the importance of working together as a team. The pupils also received their swimming certificates from Term 2.

Year 7 were delighted to receive their Leavers' Hoodies today. I'm sure you all agree they look very well.

This week the pupils in 7RR have been learning about different allergies for Allergy Awareness Week. We watched a PowerPoint about allergies and then answered questions. Did you know that 5% of children have an allergy? We then used the training Epipens to learn how to administer adrenaline if someone has a serious reaction (anaphylaxis).

Year 7 had an exciting visit to Terex Corporation just outside Ballymoney today. This visit was to introduce the pupils to the Junior Engineers Club within Terex. We are looking forward to working with Terex's Junior Engineers Club over the next 6 weeks where the pupils will be given the opportunity to learn about engineering, carry out investigations and build miniature separation models.

Tempest Photography will be with us next week on Wednesday 24th April 2024 to take class photographs for S&L as well as Primary 1 and Primary 7 

Children should be looking smart in their Full School Uniform.

Attached is an outline of the Year 7 Leavers' Trips. Thank you very much to everyone who has already booked The Lake, Kilrea. All bookings are now live via the app and will close 13th May.

7RR has really enjoyed the start of their new topic this term entitled, Are You Wise? Firstly, they listed things they were wise about and other things they had very little knowledge of. We then went outside to vote about the things they were wise about. This topic will prepare them for their move to their post primary schools.

Year 7 Hoodies
Dear Parent/Carer
 
Following the success of previous years, we are offering our current Year 7s the chance to order a leavers’ hoodie in the school colours. There will be a choice of colour for the inside of the hood.
 
Year 7 pupils can wear their hoodies at break and lunchtime. Please note we are very proud of how smart our pupils look in their full school uniform, so the hoodies will not replace our current sweatshirt/cardigan.
 
On the front of the hoodie will be the school logo and an option for your child’s initials. We recommend intials only to be printed rather than a name for the safeguarding of your child. On the back there will be the first names of all the Year 7 pupils. 
 
Cost of the Hoodie
The cost of the hoodie starts at £23.59 with an additional charge of £3.00 for added initials.
 
This year we will be using an online company to produce our Year 7 Hoodies. You will need to order your child’s hoodie by visiting the link below. Please see the size guide on the website to help you select the appropriate size. The online shop wil now close on 10th April.  Please note orders received after this date will be more expensive.

As we approach Term 3 the pupils are beginning to get excited about their upcoming leavers' trips. These trips are planned for the week beginning 28th May until 3rd June. Information will be shared at the beginning of Term 3 regarding our trips to Portrush Coastal Centre, The Lake Kilrea and Causeway Adventures.

Also, remember the on line shop for hoodies closes 31st March.

7RR have had a very busy Term 2. They enjoyed their trips to the Celebration of Sport day and the Treasured Toys exhibition. During the term they had the opportunity to enjoy some visitors into class to talk to them about their careers. Table tennis proved to be an exciting activity with Frank coming into school to deliver a series of lessons. The pupils also enjoyed celebrating World Book Day, Superhero Day and our Sustrans Bling Your Back Pack event.
