7RR have had a very busy Term 3! They have been participating in activities linked to their topic, 'Are You Wise?' as well as attending various exciting trips.

The pupils were given the opportunity by Terex to be involved in the Young Engineering Programme. We enjoyed an amazing trip to the Ballymoney site where the pupils were able to see the various stages of their manufacturing. This was followed by 5 sessions in school where the pupils produced model screeners.

An exciting day was had by all when we visited the Causeway  Coast and Glens Streetwise event. The pupils participated in activities hosted by the coastguard, Tesco, Dog's Trust and fire brigade.

The highlight of the term was the leavers' week. Pupils had the opportunity to go to The Lake, Kilrea and Portrush Coastal Centre as well as participating in orienteering, fire building and canoeing.

They are now looking forward to a well deserving summer break!

7RR enjoyed their last session of the Terex Young Engineering Programme on Monday. The pupils presented iMovies to the team from Terex showcasing everything they had been doing during the programme.

Thank you very much to the staff of Terex for delivering such an interesting and worthwhile programme to the pupils.

If you wish to stay and enjoy a buffet with your child after the Leavers assemby this Friday please book and pay on the school App before 12noon tomorrow ( Wednesday) as the booking form will close and final numbers given to the kitchen.

P7 children book as normal on the Dinner App

On Monday 3rd June, 7RR enjoyed an exciting day with Causeway Adventures. Their adventures began in Downhill Forest. The pupils started with a skipping challenge to develop team work. They then studied a map of the forest before embarking on an orientation course. They were able to start and build small fires before toasting marshmallows. Afterwards they travelled to Coleraine where they canoed along the River Bann. When they returned to school they enjoyed a take away dinner and a movie.

Year 7 are working extremely hard for their Leavers' Celebration. The production they will be performing is entitled, 'Do You Remember the First Time?"

The celebration will begin at 10am on Friday 21st June and finish with a buffet lunch. Pupils if they wish can go home with parents/carers at the end of the event.

We look forward to seeing you all there.

On Thursday 6th June Year 7 attended the Streetwise Event in the Joey Dunlop Centre. The PSNI, Tesco, The Dogs' Trust and the Causeway Coastguard were in attendance to offer short workshops with the pupils. The pupils had the opportunity to learn more about CPR, travelling to and from school on a bus, making healthy choices and caring for their environment. 

During Eco Week 7RR had the opportunity to do a scavenger hunt in the school grounds. They had great fun trying to find all the things on their Woodland Trust Nature Detectives sheet.

Pupils had to discuss and share design ideas, draw and label their designs and then use the materials provided to construct their Space Landing Station. Great Teamwork was displayed this morning during this Technology Challenge and fantastic creative designs were successfully achieved by all Teams today. Well done Year 7! 🎉
