6FB Scarab Beetles
1st May 2026
This week, 6FB have been creating their own Egyptian amulets as part of our topic Raiders of the Lost Tomb. Using clay, the pupils carefully constructed a scarab beetle, which the Ancient Egyptians believed symbolised new beginnings and good luck.
The activity encouraged mindfulness, as pupils calmly modelled and refined their designs. Once the clay has dried, the amulets will be painted in metallic colours to reflect the style of Ancient Egyptian artefacts.
6FB showed fantastic concentration and creativity throughout. I am very proud of their efforts!
