Splashing into Numeracy Fun!
We had a brilliant time taking our maths learning outdoors today – and what a splash it made! The children became little measurement experts as they explored millilitres (ml) and litres (l) using water and a range of containers.
Before pouring, the children made their best estimates – guessing how much liquid each container might hold. There were lots of excited discussions as they compared sizes, made predictions, and explained their thinking.
Then came the fun part… measuring! Using jugs, beakers and measuring cylinders, they carefully filled each container to check how close their predictions were. It was fantastic to see them using the correct equipment confidently and reading measurements with such enthusiasm.
Learning outdoors made the experience even more engaging – plenty of teamwork, laughter, and hands-on problem-solving along the way! Activities like this bring numeracy to life and show just how fun and practical maths can be.
We’re so proud of their curiosity, confidence, and brilliant estimating skills today – future mathematicians in the making!
