Sunflower Competition Yr 1-7 Eco -Schools Committee

27th Jun 2025

The Eco Committee this week, judged the class sunflowers which had been planted since Outdoor Learning Week at the start of Term 3. It was a very close finale selecting 1st and 2nd place, as you may see from the photographs!

Congratulations to Mrs Mack’s class for growing and caring for the winning Tallest, healthiest Sunflower.

Some class sunflowers growing in pots / containers, will be taken home on Monday 30th June 2025. If your child has a class Sunflower to look after during the summer months, please plant the sunflower in your garden and return the plastic flower pot / container, en return in the new academic year in September 2025.
Recycling in our Eco- Schools Green Flag School is most important to helping support and sustain our environmental issues in our global world. Thank- you for your support.

Finally, may I take this opportunity at the end of this term 3, of saying a huge thanks to our School Principal, Mrs Jamison, the Vice- Principal, Mr Clarke, to all staff and non- teaching staff, especially to our Speech and Language SEN classroom assistant Mrs Waide, to the Buildings Supervisor, Mr Johnston, and to the Board of Governors, for all your interest in our Eco- Schools Green Flag Programme of activities by the Eco Committee.

Many thanks
Mrs Murphy
Eco- Schools Leader
