World Book Day celebrations finished with the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, “Active Travel”promotion, “Bring your wheels,” to school on Friday 6th March. Thank you to all the boys and girls who came to school on bicycles and scooters and to all Parents/ Carers for supporting your child in this Active Travel event.
Active Travel to school links in with evidence for our Eco- Schools Green Flag Programme especially in the Topics of Health and Well-being, Transport, Climate and Sustainability and also with the ea Take 5 initiative of Keeping Active and Connected with others and links with the Rights Respecting Schools Award.
The Eco Committee were very busy on Friday afternoon, placing the Walk Wheel,Cycle Trust gifts of special reflector lights on every bicycle and scooter.
A huge thanks is extended to Mr Johnny McCrystal, Walk Wheel Cycle Trust, Project Officer, for the generous donation of Active Travel prizes to Ballymoney Model IPS.
