Our Monday morning was different to the usual timetable, as we had a very special workshop which was sponsored by the Good Relations programme. Pupils built upon their knowledge of Chinese New Year as we approach the end of the lunar festival.
The visitors guided our pupils through a design project which allowed them to engineer their own kite design, which were able to fly in our spacious school grounds.
Pupils were able to ‘Keep Learning’ about the cultures, traditions and designs associated with Chinese art and then ‘Get Active’ by running through the playground to allow their kite to connect with the energy from wind to raise their kites up into the sky.
