Year 6 Visit the Library

17th Nov 2025

Today our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic visit to the local library, where they discovered just how much more a library offers beyond borrowing books!

We learned about the wide range of facilities available, including access to computers, jigsaws, newspapers and exciting clubs such as Rhythm and Rhyme for younger children and the Lego Club for older ones. We also found out about special events held throughout the year, like festive Christmas readings.

Pupils were shown how books are organised and where to find different genres and topics within the library. After the tour, everyone had time to browse the shelves, complete a fun word search and take part in a treasure hunt around the library.

It was a brilliant opportunity to explore, learn and get inspired by all the library has to offer. A big thank you to the library staff for making us feel so welcome!
