Sunflower Fun in Year 1

Year 1 had a fun Friday being gardeners! This week, we have been learning about how things grow. Today, we visited our polytunnel where we planted our very own sunflower seeds. The children had great fun getting their hands muddy and putting their learning into practice. It helped us understand how plants grow and what they need to live.

This week in Year 2, we have been learning about capacity and exploring what it means for containers to be full, half full, or empty. The children used their prediction skills to estimate the capacity of different items before measuring them using water and cubes. We then compared our results to see how close our predictions were.
