Miss Hemphill's Class
For everything you need to know about Year 1 please read our
Check out what activities we have been getting up to in the classroom
Miss Hemphill's Year One class are learning all about animals on the farm. During Play Based Learning we have been adding untuned percussion instruments to Old MacDonald. We each chose an animal mask and then thought about an instrument to use to best represent that animal. We worked in groups to compose our song then performed it to the class during our plenary. We are very creative in Year One.

After enjoying the story 'The Little Red Hen' Miss Hemphill's class had a go at Hot Seating. Some of us were given a character from the story and we asked the character questions. We had some super questions such as - How did you feel? Why did you not help? Why did you not share the bread? Each character gave an answer. At the end we each decided if the Little Red Hen was fair in not sharing the bread as the friends didn't help. Super work Year 1!

Miss Hemphill's class had a fantastic day at Causeway Fun Farm. We had a tractor ride, pony rides, saw farm animals and baby animals and had fun on the zip line and the playground. More pictures will be added to the gallery.
