As part of our Time to Rhyme topic Miss Hemphill's class have been learning about apples. We cut open apples to look at the core, seeds and skin. We tasted a green and a red apple to decide which was our favourite. We represented our favourite by colouring an apple. Miss Hemphill created a graph to show which was our favourite. Great work Year One.

Thank you to everyone for the fantastic response to our colouring competition.
We had some brillant entries and our School Council had a tough job judging each Year group, to select a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize. Well done to these winners!
Although, the winners didn't stop there. The School Councillors decided that the competitions were of such a high standard, they awarded everyone an endeavour award. A massive 'WELL DONE' to each and every pupil In Foundation Stage, Keep up the super work!

Miss Hemphill's class enjoyed our Half Term Fun Day. We had a disco in the hall where we danced to some of our favourite tunes. Back in the classroom we decorated and enjoyed a spider web biscuit. At the end of the day we received a treat bag to enjoy. Have a look at our picture gallery to see all our fantastic costumes.

Year 1 had great fun taking part in the Daily Santa Mile. We enjoyed singing some festive favourites as we walked, skipped and danced along the mile. Have a look at all our happy faces.

There was great excitement when Miss Hemphill's class arrived in to a Christmas Tree. We decided to make candy canes to decorate it. As we added our decorations we talked about our traditions when decorating our tree at home.

Miss Hemphill's class have been learning about keeping safe in dark mornings during Road Safety Week. On Friday we all wore something bright to 'Ditch the Dark'. Great work 1AH.

As part of Road Safety Week Miss Hemphill's class we're learning how to cross the road safely. We talked about the importance of being seen, choosing a safe place to cross, looking and listening. We decided to part all these skills in place by helping Friendly Fred cross the road safely.

Miss Hemphill's class have enjoyed taking part in Friendship week within school. We read the story of the Rainbow Fish and realised it's good to share. We sorted actions for kind and unkind. We learnt a poem about being a friend and created our Circle of Freinds.

Miss Hemphill's class walked to the Post Office to Post our letters to Santa. There was great excitement as we each put our letters in the Post Box. Thank you to the staff at John Street for welcoming us.

Miss Hemphill's class enjoyed developing their balancing skills in PE. We balanced a beanbag on our heads, hands, shoulders, foot and knee. Have a look at how we got on.
