Each morning this week we have joined a fitness zoom hosted by Core NI. Today we had a teacher and student challenge. Ms Browne, Mrs Boreland and Miss Rennie tried so hard but we think the Year 3's and Mrs Mack's boys and girls beat them.

Today we read 'Class Three All at Sea', we then used the drama technique 'Hot Seating' to imagine ourselves as the pirates on the ship and answer questions from our peers.

The boys and girls in Mrs Boreland and Mrs Duggan's class have enjoyed taking part in Activity Based Learning.
They used their artistic skills to make sea creatures to use in the Aquarium Role Play Area. They investigated how colours and water create beautiful butterflies using chromatography. They used their phonic skills to hook a boat and write a list of words using collected digraphs. In class we have been looking at how dams are formed, they children then built and tested their own dams. A small group of children worked together to build a vessel using junk material. They used the Marco Polo Ocean App to develop their UICT skills.

The Year Three children enjoyed finding out lots of information about our new topic. We are looking forward to learning about the ocean and other areas of water in 'Splish, Splash, Splosh'.

We have had an amazing week in year 3 celebrating all things books. Each day Mr Heyburn delivered a golden envelope containing 2 words. We used the iPads to search for the meanings and then recorded this for our display. On Thursday we came to school dressed to impress as our favourite word. Take a look at our video, I'm sure you will agree we look fantastic.
